Those who have undergone reconstructive breast surgery after breast cancer and mastectomy or other breast surgery can choose to have medical micro-pigmentation otherwise known as cosmetic tattooing. Micro-pigmentation, when done correctly, can restore the aesthetic appearance of the breast and the confidence of the individual.
Post Mastectomy Breast Reconstruction
3D Areola Nipple Tattoo and Scar Camouflage
Jenifer Broomberg, professional artist (painter and sculptor for 30 years and owner of The Artist’s Touch Permanent Cosmetics and Medical MicroPigmentation uses highlights and shadows with permanent cosmetic pigments, to create a 3 dimensional, multi-tonal tattoo that mimics the natural features and coloring of the areola and nipple complex of the breast to create the perception of depth A realistic and natural looking areola and nipple can be created to complete the healed mastectomy procedure. Some patients prefer not to have surgical nipple reconstruction and will opt for a 3D Areola Nipple Complex Tattoo. Patients can now decide what color and size they would like to them be.
In the case of a unilateral mastectomy the areola and nipple complex is matched to the adjacent breast. For patients who have chosen to have nipple reconstruction, a dimensional effect is used to re-pigment the new nipple and to create the surrounding areola complex.
Lumpectomy scars may not always need tattooing, however, micro-pigmentation can also be performed to camouflage scars lighter than the surrounding skin so that they are less noticeable.
COSMETIC BREAST SURGERY SCARS
Breast Lifts, Reductions, Augmentations, Gynecomastia and other Surgical Breast Scars.
Flesh colored pigments are blended to match the patient’s healthy skin and tattooed into the scars to reduce the skin color differences.
Cosmetic Tattooing can create better symmetry of shape or consistency in color of the Areola. Aging and genetics may result in fading color or shape changes and asymmetries of the breasts.
